UCP’s Family Support Services (FSS) Team is committed to the well-being of the entire family unit. To that end, we offer a broad system of support for parents, siblings, and extended family of children, youth, and young adults with a disability or special need.

Community Connections
Resources that connect you to information and local events throughout Central PA
Family Activities
Opportunities that provide a safe, stress-free environment where you can interact as a family unit while getting to know other families in similar situations.
Family Driven Support Services
Dauphin County FDSS recipients decide which services, such as Respite Care, Family Aide, Family Education/Training, and Recreation/Leisure Time Activities, will best address their specific needs.
Respite
Care and recreation for individuals with disabilities and their siblings, offered on 2 Fridays from 6-10pm at our Mechanicsburg location. (The Carlisle location will reopen on an additional Friday in the future.)
Sibshops
Sibshops are a lively recreational peer support forum for children ages 6-13 which allows siblings the chance to get connected with others who have a sibling with special needs. Registration required for each group of four events. Fall 2024 Sibshops will run on Sep 8, Oct 13, Nov 10 and Dec 8 from 2:00pm-4:30pm.
